The Artograph Story

1947:Artograph was founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota by Ed Hirschoff, John Engel, and Les Kouba. Les, a wildlife artist, developed a projector to enlarge his photos onto a canvas. This first prototype was built from auto parts, a garage door track, plywood, and scavenged parts from a junkyard.

1980's: More projectors developed including the AG100, Prism, and Tracer.

1990's: We introduced two light boxes, LightTracer and LightTracer 2.

2000's: LED technology is starting to get incorporated into our products.

2010's: Flare, Inspire, and Impression projectors are added to the repertoire.

2019: Studio Designs acquires Artograph and continues the legacy of developing tools for artists.
